Québec city, Tuesday, March 6, 2018 – Green Marine is heading to Vancouver, B.C., for its 11th annual conference. GreenTech 2018 will take place at the Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle Downtown Hotel from May 30 to June 1, 2018.

Preliminary program now on line

The conference will discuss issues directly related to Green Marine environmental certification’s performance indicators, such as:

  • biofouling prevention (addressing aquatic invasive species)
  • underwater noise and marine mammals.

GreenTech 2018 will also tackle emerging issues and other topics relevant to vessel and port sustainability, including:

  • Advanced technologies for low carbon transportation
  • Public engagement, information sharing, and communication tools for print, digital and in-person platforms
  • Sustainable development during a time of growth.

As always, there will be expert knowledge, actual experience and best practices shared, along with detailed information about innovative sustainability initiatives, and great networking opportunities.

GreenTech 2018 will as usual feature a commercial exhibition. The Green Marine conference has earned an enviable reputation for showcasing the latest sustainability technology and innovation for the marine industry. As a result, it has become the key event to convey efforts and advancements in maritime transportation sustainability to a keenly interested group of attendees. Two-thirds of the booths have already been sold! Hurry to book yours!

NEW THIS YEAR!

Green Marine is once again innovating! For the first time, scientific researchers and non-governmental organizations are invited to submit proposals for poster presentations at GreenTech 2018. The presentations will convey recent, current and/or proposed scientific research focused on improving the shipping industry’s environmental sustainability. The submission deadline for proposals is March 31, 2018.

Two industrial visits on the agenda!

A hearty welcome awaits the delegates of GreenTech 2018: BC Ferries is offering a bus tour of its fleet maintenance unit, and the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority is providing a cruise tour of its premises. Both tours have limited seating. Places will be assigned on a first-come first-served basis – one more reason to register for the conference right away! Plus the early bird discount of $100 applies only till April 29, after which all conference registrations will revert to the standard rates.

GreenTech’s relevance makes it the essential annual gathering for everyone involved or interested in improving maritime transportation’s environmental performance.
