Official GreenTech 2017 program now posted!

May 11, 2017

Green Marine’s 10th annual conference is fast approaching! The lineup of guests and topics make GreenTech 2017 a gathering not to be missed!

A glance at the official program now posted online will convince you of the relevance of attending GreenTech 2017. You will have the opportunity to hear presentations on a range of topics of current strong interest to the marine transportation industry. They include:

  • Carbon footprint assessments
  • Storm preparedness and resiliency
  • Air emissions at ports
  • Protection of marine ecosystems
  • Underwater noise
  • Dual fuel and LNG use
  • Environmental leadership and innovation
  • Cruise ship environmental challenges

Green Marine is also pleased to welcome Heike Deggim, the International Maritime Organization’s Senior Deputy Director of the Sub-Division for Protective Measures of the Marine Environment Division. Dr. Deggim is in charge at the IMO of matters related to marine pollution, air pollution, energy efficiency, ballast water management, and the carriage of chemicals in bulk.

The usual array of informative business discussions will be supplemented this year with a workshop on the Port Emission Inventory Tool (PEIT) that Green Marine has licensed from Transport Canada. There is also the Certification Ceremony reception, a trade show with the latest sustainability technology and innovation for the marine industry, along with numerous other learning and networking opportunities!

This year’s conference takes place at the Hyatt Regency Pier Sixty-Six in sunny Fort Lauderdale. The location steps away from Port Everglades – the first Florida port to join the program in 2015 – marks an exciting first for GreenTech 2017 in the American South.

Green Marine and the Broward County have arranged for delegates to explore Port Everglades and the Greater Fort Lauderdale area from the water aboard one of the city’s signature Water Taxis. This exclusive tour, sponsored by Port Everglades, will take place Thursday, June 1, from 4 to 6 p.m.

The conference attracts people directly involved in deciding how to improve marine transportation’s sustainability, making GreenTech 2017 a premier occasion for marine-related organizations and enterprises to convey their sustainability.
